Hammers Named Officer of First Half 2017

During an awards ceremony Thursday at the Grand Key Resort, Key West Police Chief Donie Lee named Officer Jesse Hammers as Officer of the First Half, 2017.

Officer Hammers joined the Key West Police Department in 2014, following in his father’s footsteps.

“Officer Hammers exemplifies the core values of the Department: Respect, Integrity, Fairness and Service,” said Chief Lee. “He serves with enthusiasm, meeting every encounter with courtesy and respect. He eagerly engages in the community through many volunteer efforts.

“This year his energy and dedication brought about the successful First Annual Mango Fest to benefit the Police Athletic League. Officer Hammers is constantly working to better serve the community. He reflects the highest standards of the Key West Police Department and is an asset to our community.”
