SCHOOL BOARD TO VOTE ON STUDENT DRUG TESTING POLICY AT JUNE 27th MEETING

WHO:  School Board Members, Executive Leadership Team, the Public

WHAT: The School Board plans to meet for a workshop and regular meeting. There are four items scheduled for closed session. During the reconvening of the workshop at 4:00 pm, Superintendent Mark T. Porter plans to discuss the Stock Island property purchase, up for a vote from the board. The Superintendent also plans to give a legislative update on the heels of the passing of HB 7069, and will discuss the City of Marathon’s request regarding the Marathon Manor property.

Items on the consent agenda include personal recommendations for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school year, charter school reports, the budget summary report, and the Head Start cost of living adjustment, or COLA. The board is also expected to approve an item on consent for the U.S. food contract for the Food and Nutrition Services department and the 2017-2018 dual enrollment agreement between the Monroe County School District, and Florida Keys Community College.

Action Items on the agenda include, approval of the student drug testing policy, approval of hourly non-bargaining unit employee compensation adjustment, and the approval of the May Sands Montessori School lease.
