Scholarships

Last week we handed out $15,000 in scholarships checks. 15 Key West High School graduates were awarded $1,000 scholarships each.

The KWHS scholarship fund has been has been in place for the last 19 years. The money is raised from members of KWAR and sponsors. Chris Elwell of Royal Furniture and Design has been a main contributor to this fund as well as the luncheon the sponsor for the KWAR General Membership Meeting that the scholarships were presented to the graduates. Recipients were selected by the KWAR scholarship committee.

FIRM

Key West Association of Realtors along with the help of the Community raised $17,987 for Fair Insurance Rates in Monroe (F.I.R.M.) This was proceeds from our recent fundraiser at the Garden Hotel. FIRM is an organization that fights for unaffordable property insurance rates for the homeowners in Monroe County.

FLORIDA REALTORS LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

Florida REALTORS® Leadership Academy is a very prestigious program that is designed for REALTORS® that want to make a difference. The mission of Florida Realtors Leadership Academy is to identify, educate and inspire future leaders in a professional, supportive environment while advancing the principles of the Florida Realtors.

Florida Realtors accepted applications for this program over the span of four months and only 18 participants were selected from the entire State of Florida. Two Key West Association of REALTORS® (KWAR) Board members have been selected, Stacy Stahl, 2017 KWAR President and Jaime Caballero, 2017 KWAR Legislative – RPAC Chairperson.
