MONROE COUNTY FIRE RESCUE TO HOST ‘BEAT THE HEAT’ EVENTS FOR CHILDREN
MONROE COUNTY, FL – Monroe County Fire Rescue is hosting a series of “Beat the Heat” events for children this summer. Firefighters will provide a gentle stream of misting water for kids of all ages to enjoy in a safe and fun environment. It is a great way to meet your neighborhood firefighters and cool off from the summer sun.
Children are encouraged to wear bathing suits and tennis shoes or sneakers. They also should bring towels.
The events are being held on Saturdays, from 12 to 2 p.m., at the following locations:
June 24: Harry Harris Park, Tavernier
July 1: Outdoor Resorts, Long Key
July 29: Big Pine Community Park, Big Pine Key
Aug. 5: Sugarloaf School, Summerland Key
Aug. 12: Bay Point Park, Saddlebunch Keys
Aug. 19: Big Coppitt VFD Park, Big Coppitt Key
Aug. 26: Stock Island Fire Station, Stock Island.
