Community Foundation Awards $65,000 To Support Arts and Culture Initiatives
Twelve Florida Keys nonprofit organizations have been awarded a total of $65,034 in grants, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 each, from the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys. The grants are part of the 2017 GrantProgram funding arts, music, theatre, historical and cultural projects and will positively affect more than 4,600 residents from Key West to Key Largo.
The nonprofits receiving grants are: Bahama Village Music Program, $6,500; Florida Keys Council of the Arts, $3,000; Gerald Adams Elementary School, $7,604; Impromptu Classical Concerts, $8,000; Key West Theater and Community Stage, $10,000; Marathon Community Theatre, $1,000; Monroe Association for ReMARCable Citizens, $4,000; Morada Way Arts & Cultural District, $7,000; Old Island Restoration Foundation, $1,000; Tennessee Williams Key West Exhibit, $5,430; Treasure Village Montessori School, $4,000; and The Studios of Key West, $7,500.
Projects will provide arts opportunities and arts education for low-income youth, professional and emerging artists, seniors, youth of all ages, and developmentally disabled adults, among others.
The Grant Program is funded through generous donations to the Future Fund at CFFK as well as the Jack Baron Visual Grant Fund, the Florence Fox-Loeb Key West Music and Arts Fund, the Jones-DelMonte Endowment, and the William C. Euler, Jr. and Andrew F. Oates, Jr. Fund.
