Monroe County School Board Meeting Highlights for April 11
The Monroe County School District met April 11th, 2017 at Coral Shores High School for a scheduled School Board workshop and meeting.
Here are some highlights from the workshop and meeting:
- Approval of the Contingent Contract for the Stock Island Purchase for the transportation department
- Approval of Chairman John Dick’s appointment to the Audit and Finance Committee
- Approval of the contract for playground equipment at HOB the playground resurfacing at HOB
- Approval of the RFP for the lighting and sound upgrade contract at Coral Shores High School, Marathon High School, and Key West High School auditoriums
- Approval of the KWHS sailing trip to Cuba
- Approval of the deductive change order for Plantation Key School
- GEMs Recognition included National Merit Finalist from CSHS, Preston Holt, United Way Coordinator, Kate Bauer-Jones, outstanding student aides, and PKS 8th grade mentors and tutors to the 2nd graders
- Further discussion and input for school start times
- A report from Operations and Planning about the construction projects underway, including the projects that will take place at three schools within the District, Plantation Key School, Stanley Switlik Elementary, and Gerald Adams Elementary
