Konk Life Managing Editor
Ralph Morrow, who joined Konk Life in October, has been promoted from News Editor to Managing Editor by Publisher Guy deBoer.
Morrow has been a national and state prize-winning editor and writer for newspapers in Florida and Ohio. He most recently left the Key West Citizen when his position as sports editor was eliminated. Morrow was the editor of Island News in Key West, editorial page editor of the North Port (FL) Sun and interim assistant metro editor of the Fort Meyers News-Press as well as holding several positions at the Dayton (OH) Daily News.
“Ralph is recognized as an accomplished journalist who will be in charge of our growing staff of writers,” said deBoer. “He has already made significant contributions to both Konk Life and the Blast. As we continue to expand our operations, Ralph will be taking over much of what have been my editorial responsibilities.”
In addition, C.S. Gilbert, another award-winning veteran writer in Key West and New Jersey, moves up from Editorial Consultant to Copy Editor.

I agree with Rick Boettgers ed. piece (let them eat cake) except in one minor point. The we he is speaking of is not the residents of Key West, but the business owners. And since this is a special interest need that interest should be the ones to come up with private property location and financing, not the taxpayer. There are plenty of deep pocket owners who could come up with the land etc. And if really looking for outside the box thinking how about a end of life moderate size cruise ship placed in dry dock. 500-1000 instant dorms plugged into city electric, water, and sewer with minimal renovation cost and initial outlay.(less than new city hall). Comparable to pub. building lifetime.
