Gildea Contemporary Gallery To Host “Wild Gildea Nights”

Key West’s abstract art gallery holds massive sale and live music event.

KEY WEST, FL – Gildea Contemporary Gallery will host a unique event with live local musicians, new and deeply discounted artworks for sale, and free gifts and door prizes. Wild Gildea Nights will take place at the gallery at 522 Southard St. on Monday, March 13th from 7:00 to 10:00pm and feature performances from popular singers Mary Spear and Yvan Agbo.

“We wanted to do something with a completely different flavor from our daytime environment,” says curator David Bethune. “On any normal day, we’re a calm and organized space with a museum-like feel. But on Wild Gildea Nights, we break loose and pack the floor with artworks that aren’t normally on display, offering them at discounts up to 50% off.” More than 40 artworks from the archives will be on sale.

The first 30 guests will receive a free fine art poster from Netherlands artist Herman Stel. Stel’s pop painting of David Bowie was the star of the gallery’s most recent show, East Meets West, selling for $5,400 at the preview. In addition, Gildea Gallery will give away two door prizes from well-known Miami artist Roberto Britto.

Gildea Contemporary Gallery is Key West’s destination for abstract and contemporary art. The gallery offers free “white glove delivery” and hanging service for local buyers, simplifying the process of getting artwork home and making it look great. The gallery sells original paintings and sculpture priced from $800 to $6,000 and offers in-store framing at wholesale cost. Gildea Contemporary Gallery is located at 522 Southard St in Old Town Key West and is open daily from 10:30am to 4:30pm.
