   Andy, you are quite right. Hiring Bob Norton is a whole lot cheaper than having a superintendent and his staff spend 150 hours or the equivalent of 4 full working weeks of doing nothing but negotiating. I think you have to question a superintendent who was willing to dedicate that amount of time, regardless of outcome. One of Porter’s purported strong suits was labor negotiations. I guess it is time to reassess that claim. Bob Norton should have been brought on much earlier, if not Day 1.
   I am tired of hearing that the kind-hearted Board “restored” the furlough days. The Board did no such thing. What the Board did was to not continue the furlough days since the financial urgency had disappeared. The furlough days simply disappeared.

   Chairman Emeritus? What does that make John Dick? Will you be including it on your resume? I guess I missed the Board vote providing you such a distinguished title.
