Hillary for America, Joe Garcia and Local Pastors Rally South Dade Voters During First Weekend of “Souls to the Polls”
Curter Bay, FL—One day after former Democratic Congressman Joe Garcia served as hype man for Hillary Clinton at the Jennifer Lopez concert in support of Hillary, Garcia helped local South Dade pastors energize churchgoers during a “Souls to the Polls” rally organized by the Hillary Clinton campaign with participation from various local pastors. The event was meant to encourage church members to exercise their civic right and cast their votes for leaders who stand up for South Florida families.
“We’ve spent months talking about the importance of this election. Today, we are casting ballots and making our voices heard,” said Joe Garcia, candidate for Florida’s 26th congressional district. “South Dade is a vibrant community that is deeply affected by decisions in Washington, so the value of the work from these great pastors to motivate voters in the community cannot be understated—and I’m proud to walk alongside them.”
Garcia has won over the support of key leaders in South Dade. He has been endorsed by Miami Dade County Commissioner Daniella Levine-Cava, State Senator Dwight Bullard, Florida City Mayor Otis Wallace, Florida City Vice-Mayor Sharon Butler, Florida City Commissioner Avis Brown, Florida City Commissioner Eugene Berry, Florida City Commissioner Roy Shiver, and Florida State Rep. Kionne McGhee.
