Week in Review: Joe Garcia Wins Democratic Primary Election, Shows Solidarity with Venezuelan Fight for Democracy and Celebrates Labor Day with Unions

Last week, former Congressman Joe Garcia locked up the Democratic nomination in the race for Florida’s 26th Congressional District. Dozens of Garcia supporters watched the results come in Tuesday night in Kendall’s La Caretta Restaurant. In his victory speech, Garcia spoke about his people-driven campaign effort and thanked his volunteers for making the victory possible despite being outspent 4-to-1 by his primary opponent.

Leading up to the celebration, Garcia spent the day winning over voters at polls all across West and South Dade. He also urged all South Floridians to exercise their sacred right to vote before the end of Election Day during TV and radio interviews.
