Man Injured in Loading Accident

One man was critically injured behind St. Mary’s Basilica this afternoon and is being airlifted to Miami. The accident occurred while the man was operating a winch to load a temporary office trailer onto a flatbed truck. The chain broke and links were sent flying across Windsor Lane and into a house on Virginia Street.

Pieces of the chain broke the front window of the house. Police are still on the scene investigating. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
