Donavon Frankenreiter Concert

On Sunday, March 13, Key West Concerts presented world-renowned, Hawaii-based musician and surfer Donavon Frankenreiter at Fort East Martello as part of the Key West Art & Historical Society’s “Music at Martello” series.

1: Sunday evening’s Donavon Frankenreiter concert event at Fort East Martello kicked off with local music virtuoso’s Jeff Clark (left) and Miguel Perez (rt).

2: Lemonade Stand Gallery manager Caroline Stover-Sickmen (left) and proprietor Letty Nowak (rt) take in the laid-back vibe of Sunday evening’s Donavon Frankenreiter concert at Fort East Martello. The Hawaii-based surfer-musician was a subject for Nowak’s “Faces of Surfing II” series of paintings.

3: The team from Irie Island Eats catering company, (left to right) Jolene Wilson, David Ruiz, chef/owner Chris Lordi and Natalie Allen dished up “incredible deliciousness” for Donavon Frankenreiter concert-goer’s at Fort East Martello on Sunday evening.

4: Frankenreiter played selections from his most recent album, “The Heart” as well as old favorites from more than a decade of recording and touring. It was an encore performance in the Southernmost City for the world-renowned musician and his band. Produced by Key West Concerts and hosted by the Key West Art & Historical Society, the show was part of The Societies “Music at Martello” series, a program established to promote the arts, bring live music to the Keys and foster the Fort as a community venue.

5: Eleven year-old Gwen Gaines, a local 5th grade student, took the stage with musician/surfing star Donavon Frankenreiter at Fort East Martello Sunday night to deliver the concert finale song, “It Don’t Matter.”
