Keys History & Discovery Center Hosts Midweek Matinees

Islamorada, FL – The Keys History & Discovery Center in Islamorada features True Lies for February’s Midweek Matinees. Movies are shown in the new state-of-the-art theater on the first Wednesday of the month in the afternoon. This first year of movies features movies made in/about the Keys, and will include a historical introduction by the Discovery Center’s Historian/Curator Brad Bertelli.

The February movie is Wednesday, Feb. 3, with the showing of True Lies. Arnold Schwarzenegger is special agent Harry Tasker – although to his wife Helen (Jamie Lee Curtis), he’s just a boring computer salesman. When Harry’s two lives unexpectedly collide, both he and Helen find themselves in the clutches of international terrorists fighting to save not only their marriage, but also their lives. Scenes were filmed in Marathon, including the explosion scene of the Seven-mile Bridge, and Sugarloaf Key. Directed by James Cameron, True Lies is an exhilarating mix of non-stop action and romantic comedy. The movie is rated R.

The Center opens at 1:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 2 p.m. Popcorn, candy, water and soda available for purchase.

Other movies in the monthly schedule include African Queen, Key Largo, Tomorrow Never Dies, Cuba Crossing and Hoot
