Mayor Danise “DeeDee Henriquez today present the City’s Code Enforcement Department a proclamation honoring Code Enforcement Officers Appreciation Week.
Every year, the Florida Association of Code Enforcement sets aside the first week of June for local governments to honor and recognize their code enforcement officers.
“The City of Key West Code Enforcement Department protects our community’s health, safety, and welfare,” said Mayor Henriquez. “They continually strive to provide fair and equitable services to our citizens and visitors.”
The Code team of 10 people covers everything from taking in complaints to doing site visits — all while exhibiting professionalism through continued education and teamwork.
“Code Enforcement Officers are often not credited for the jobs that they do in saving lives and improving neighborhoods,” reads the proclamation. “Too many times their efforts go unnoticed.
Our Code Enforcement Officers are dedicated, well-trained, and highly responsible individuals who take their jobs seriously and are proud of their department and our City.”
