New Orleans’ Dave Jordan and The Neighborhood Improvement Association take the Parrot stage this weekend with shows at 5:30, 9:00 and 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and a 5:30 p.m. “Soundcheck” on Sunday.
Long a Parrot favorite, The NIA, Dave’s five-piece troupe of seasoned NOLA A-list players that include guitarist Gregory “Wolf” Hodges, bassist Will Repholz, and Rurik Nunan on fiddle, is a band who has been on everyone’s radar this year, as they quickly emerged as one of the most talked-about roots/rock acts in the highly-competitive New Orleans music scene, covering the spectrum of American roots music from Bo Diddley to Bob Dylan (think Tom Petty meets Dr. John meets John Prine).
