Beer will flow and fun will be had at Key West BrewFest featuring nearly 200 beers at the Signature Tasting Festival on Labor Day weekend. The ninth annual BrewFest, sponsored by Key West Sunrise Rotary and Southernmost Beach Resort, is the civic organization’s major fundraiser benefiting college scholarships and charitable causes.

Events begin on Aug. 30 with a pool party at the Marker Waterfront Resort, a dodgeball tournament at 24 North, and the official kickoff party at the Waterfront Brewery. There’s also a tap invasion at the Green Parrot Bar and a beer dinner at Bagatelle.

On Aug. 31, party at the Southernmost Beach Resort’s Pineapple Pool, check out special release beers at the Waterfront Brewery, paddleboard race for beer at Mellow Ventures Café, and enjoy a beach party at theSouthernmost Beach Café. There is also a beer pairing dinner at The Perry Hotel, and hard-to-find beers at The Porch.

Saturday, Sept. 1, opens with the Magic Hat Hot Trot. Participants run to The Porch, drink a beer and run back. That gets them in shape for the Key West BrewFest Signature Tasting Festival on South Beach. VIP admission, 3-5 p.m., includes food, swag and a head start on tasting nearly 200 brews. Tickets must be purchased in advance for $75. General admission, 5-8 p.m. is $40 in advance; $45 at the gate. Tickets can be purchased online or from Key West Sunrise Rotarians.

The fun doesn’t end with the tasting festival. Join New Orleans band Water Seed on a second line march to the Green Parrot or head back to The Porch for an after party. On Sunday, Sept. 2, The Perry Hotel hosts a hangover brunch and pool party, the Marker Waterfront Resort serves up a pig roast, and the Southernmost Beach Resort and Café put on a pool party and beer dinner.
