Good luck, he was the worst cheif Jacksonville Fire Rescue has ever had. 1300 firefighters will be so happy to see him retire early. The comment in the article that the county is so fortunate to get someone with such great experience is because no one else will hire him. The article also dosnt mention that he was demoted down from Fire Cheif and also that he will be retiring early, humm wonder why? The old adage it’s to good to be true fits perfectly in this situation. He won’t be invited to his retirement party, that’s for sure.
This comment is for “Steve”, the Senterfitt name has been around with JFRD probably longer than you have been alive! Apparently he did something right if he was with the department for 28 years, if not I really don’t think they would have kept him around for so long, not to mention his other family involved with the city of Jacksonville!!! As far as Marty’s retirement get your facts straight before you start assuming anything, some people choose to make good financial decisions for their future so they can enjoy life with their family, so taking a planned early retirement from the City of Jacksonville is an awesome choice!!! My father which is also a “Senterfitt” worked for JFRD for over 35 years, as well as Marty’s father, so I know first hand what kind of work ethics Martin Senterfitt stands for. For the extremely rude & immature comment about no one else willing to hire!!???!! Really Steve!!!!? Sounds like houu
