Carol McArdle: Magic of the Mangroves
  March 11-13, Rockhouse Masterpieces

Why do we love the Florida Keys? The weather, beaches, flora and fauna all hold such special appeal, and for artist Carol McArdle it is all of the above.  “In my paintings it is not just the view, scenery or objects that matter but how, as an artist I am able to perceive and interpret them. I capture my vision in my paintings from the subjects I feel a deep connection to.

Each of my paintings presents a new way of seeing a scene or subject, some which may be familiar and others not. Some of my work is of wilderness scenery and wildlife that I find only by getting off the beaten track and exploring nature in undeveloped places. Finding my subjects and preparing my compositions are as much a part of my creative process as applying brushstrokes.

My paintings shine a spotlight on the beauty that I see and I am always pushing myself to hone and evolve my artistic skills to create art that is fresh, original and a genuine expression of my personal view and connection with what I see in nature.”

Carol lives and works in Southwest Florida. She is known, and has won grants and awards for her inspiring and authentic paintings of Florida landscapes and birds. Her work has been shown and recognized in galleries and museums across the country.  Two subjects that Carol McArdle is known for are mangroves and birds.  Her bird paintings have been celebrated around the country and have twice been in the renowned “Birds in Art” exhibit at the Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI.
Carol will be showing her new works during a three day exhibition at Rockhouse Masterpieces, 330 Julia Street, Key West, beginning Friday, March 11 and running through Sunday March 13.
