Honor All Women March 8

March 8 was established as International Women’s Day by women in the labor movement in the early 1900s. The intent was to honor working women—and later feminists insisted that homemakers were working women, as well. Thus the holiday honors all women.

In celebration, the Key West chapter of the National Organization for Women is reviving their old annual custom of hosting a demonstration today from 5 until 6 p.m. at the intersection of N. Roosevelt Blvd. and Palm Ave/First St. All are welcome. Some issue signs will be available but folks may make their own about issues about which they are passionate.

For additional information phone the chapter at (305) 393-7844
