Marathon Man Arrested For Gun Threats

A Marathon man was arrested early today for threating to shoot two people and firing a rifle in public.

Deputies responded to a call of a domestic in progress and shots fired on 11th Street in Marathon at 1:30 a.m. When they arrived, they spoke with four people involved in the incident. After speaking with those involved, they arrested 24 year old Joseph Iannacco.

Investigations revealed Iannacco had been in a domestic argument with his girlfriend. While arguing with her, two others were present. Iannocco had a handgun in his residence that had been disassembled for cleaning. The two people grabbed the slide from the gun because they said they were afraid he would shoot them with the gun. They fled from the residence, went to their own nearby residence and called 911.

In the meantime, Iannacco chased after them with a rifle, threatening to shoot them. He discharged the rifle, firing what he called a “warning shot” with it.

Iannocco was booked into jail for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm in public.
