Community Cares Outstanding Employees For October Announced
Lower Keys Medical Center is proud to announce that Sara Phillips, Registered Nurse in the Maternal Infant Child Care Unit, Yaiza Sanchez, Case Worker in Behavioral Health and Fred Patton, Maintenance Technician in Plant Operations have been recognized with the monthly Community Cares Outstanding Employee Award. They are being recognized for their contributions for creating and maintaining a culture and practice of outstanding service to our employees, physicians, patients, families and visitors. We thank them for their commitment to the Community Cares culture by helping to create a great place for employees to work, physicians to practice medicine, and patients to receive care.
Sara Phillips, RN-C received recent patient kudos that stated, “Thank you so much Sara for everything you did,” and, “You made my experience one that I will never forget.” Others said, “You were more than just my nurse, you were a friend and I am forever grateful,” and “Sara you are a truly amazing nurse!”
Sara’s Director said, “Sara has a strong knowledge base in obstetrics and can also perform as a pediatric nurse. She has obtained and maintained her professional certification in her Perinatal Nursing through the ANCC. Recently she has taken care of some families dealing with very difficult situations and performed her nursing duties with the care and compassion she would have given her own family. The families expressed their gratitude and stated that they did not feel like they were being taken care of just by a nurse, but by a member of their own family. Sara is always willing to empower the staff to clarify situations with physicians for the safety of the patients.”
Yaiza Sanchez, LSW had several kudos recently from patients that stated, “Yaiza gave me positive work to do, which was very helpful,” and “Yaiza is good at talking and caring.” The most recent said, “Yaiza helped me to think positive, thank you so much.”
Yaiza’s Manager gives you high praises and said, “Yaiza is one of the newest members in our social work department and a wonderful addition to our team. She is creative, caring, hardworking and is the activity therapist on our unit. Yaiza is always coming up with new ways to provide great patient care and has been instrumental in expanding our outpatient program by offering interactive group therapy daily on our inpatient unit. The patients just love Yaiza and we are happy to have her working here.”
Fred Patton had a recent kudos that said, “Fred became Plant Operations Leader at the DePoo facility this year. He is really wonderful to work with. He is always responsive, helpful, and cheerful. During the last few weeks he has really stepped up to lead the enormous undertaking of renovating the 2nd floor to get us ready to move down by next week. Through this process he has remained responsive, helpful, and cheerful. We appreciate Fred!” Another coworker exclaimed, “Fred is positive and willing to help with whatever needs doing. He is knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Thank you, for all that you do.”
Fred’s Director was pleased to say, “It is a pleasure to see Fred receive professional recognition for a job well done. His professionalism and demeanor reflect all the best qualities that we wish to project here at Lower Keys Medical Center. His calm, effective manner and his reliable nature are a model for other staff to exemplify. Fred has my highest regard.”
