Frenchie’s Café – just like being there
I have always wanted to go to France. For now though, it is still a dream, but here in Key West I can have the next best thing! Frenchie’s Café on United! When I asked Stephanie Bellin what made you and your husband, Xavier, chose Key West, she answered, (Insert French accent here) “We searched all around and Key West is most like a village for our small café, you bike ride and people walk,” she said of Frenchie’s Café.
The couple had a thriving business in France, but like most people, they longed to come to the United States. We are lucky they chose Key West. We can now experience their decadent pastries and incredibly delicious foods. Most days the front door to Frenchie’s Café is open and so is the pull to go inside. As you step inside you are transported to a small village in France with the delicious smells of homemade pastries with the cooking that is happening right before your eyes. Xavier will greet you with his infectious welcoming smile.
Stephanie has been up hours before Frenchie’s is open for business to bake the best buttery flaky croissants that just melt in your mouth. She says that her almond croissants and quiche are the biggest sellers, and after tasting them you will know why.
Breakfast is the best accompanied by a giant cup of cappuccino, mounded high with frothy milk. Stop on in, but make sure you are there by 3 p.m. when they close.
Frenchie’s cafe is definitely a place to visit again and again. Plenty of seating in the back. Delivery is also available, if you feel like hanging at your hotel, but you are in Key West, who would want do that? 😉
