Lou, your article is so spot-on, there’s not much else to comment on. I fear that so many Americans truly don’t get it. Explaining it becomes moot. I feel I’m on the banks of the Niagara River screaming a warning to a party boat heading toward the falls but all the passengers do is raise their glasses, smile and wave. It’s truly a helpless feeling.

The other contribution by the Government, to the downfall of the middle class that you did not mention is the “welfare system.” With the money and benefits that the various Governments makes it impossible to get out of the system. This is at least partially because of the low wages you mentioned, but the rest of the story is that it the Governments responsibility to take care of those in the system. This has been ingrained in a couple of generations over the past 50 years. ie Welfare changed to Entitlements
