Hometown! PAC forum tonight at TWFAC

Hometown! PAC will hold its fourth event of the 2014 political season, tonight from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 18, in the lobby at Tennessee Williams Fine arts Center on the Florida Keys Community College campus.

This will be a question and answer forum for judicial candidates, Groups 1 and 4, Monroe County school board candidates, Districts 1, 4, and 5, and primary candidates for the Republican nomination for U.S. representative to oppose Democrat Incumbent Congressman Joe Garcia.

The panelists will be Rev. Randy Becker, Naja Girard of Key West The Newspaper (The Blue Paper), Jenna Stauffer, local television newsperson and Bill Becker, newscaster of US 1 Radio, 104.1 FM and moderator of the Morning Magazine program.

There are five Republicans vying to be the Republican candidate opposing Garcia in the Nov.4, General Election. The candidates who will attend the forum are Edward P. MacDougall and Lorenzo Palomaras Starbuck.

Candidates Carlos Curbelo and Joe A. Martinez have notified Hometown that they cannot attend. Hometown has not heard from candidate David Rivera.

Democrat Incumbent Garcia, running unopposed, will, be part of the forum for the General Election.

The candidates for the six-year term for circuit judge are Group 1, Incumbent Mark Jones and Donald Barrett and Group 4, Incumbent Tegan Slaton, Jack Bridges and Bonnie J. Helms. Slaton has not confirmed his appearance.

School Board District 1 candidates for the four-year term are Stu Kessler,  Warren Leamard and Bobby Highsmith; District 4, Incumbent: John R. Dick Catherine Bosworth and District 5, Incumbent: Ronald Martin, Dennis Caltagirone and Richard Bradley, the later who has not confirmed his appearance.
